Celebrated model and actor Nusraat Faria started her journey as a TV and radio host. She went on to work on hits like Badshah: The Don (2016), Inspector Notty K (2018) and Premi O Premi (2016), which brought her acclaim both at home and abroad. She recently announced her engagement to Rony Riad Rashid on social media. In a candid chat with The Daily Star, the actor talks about her aspirations and upcoming projects.

Congratulations. How and when did you and Rony Riad Rashid decide on your engagement? 

My last shoot was on March 11 this year and I got engaged to Rony on March 21. We have known each other for a while and have been seeing each other since the past seven years. With blessings from our families, the engagement was held in the presence of relatives and close friends. Sometime after the ceremony, the world went into isolation due to the coronavirus pandemic. Subsequently, we could not arrange anything grand to share the good news. However, we will soon have a gathering to spread the word.

Tell us a bit about Rony.

Rony is a Harvard graduate. He currently holds a corporate job. However, he will soon be moving to Australia with a new job under the Australian Government. Alongside being very professional in his job, he has also been very caring and supportive about my work since we first met in 2014, and this is what I love the most about him.

Alongside acting, you are also studying Law. What are your future plans in this field?

I am currently studying Law under University of London. My final exams are due this July. As soon as I am done, I plan to practice law and become a barrister.

What are your upcoming ventures?

The Shihab Shaheen directorial Jodi Kintu Tobuo is currently on hold. However, we will resume the shoot soon. I have completed shooting for Dipankar Dipon's Operation Sundarbans and I am nearly done shooting for Dhaka 2040. I am also working on the Kolkata-based production Bhoy, which I hope will be done in one week, as soon as things get back on track.

How are you spending your days at the moment?

I am having a good time with my family in my farmhouse in Mymensingh, and I am looking forward to my life with Rony.
