Johnny Depp’s ‘Fantastic Beasts’ departure stirs up global fan petitions

Celebrated Hollywood actor Johnny Depp has been facing controversies for the last few years, since his divorce in 2016 from actor Amber Heard, when she accused him of domestic abuse, which he denied repeatedly.
Currently, Depp's fans all over the world are signing a petition to remove Heard from the "Aquaman" franchise, following Depp's departure from the "Fantastic Beasts" films.
On November 6, Depp announced that he was asked to resign from his role as Grindelwald in "Fantastic Beasts 3", enraging fans all over the world.
The online petition to remove Heard from "Aquaman 2" has now reached over 1.5 million signatures. Since it was reported that Mads Mikkelsen will replace Johnny Depp in the latest "Fantastic Beasts" film, the petition received a total of 1,579,927 signatures, more than half of its targeted 3,000,000 pledges.

The petition continues to gain support from Depp's fans all over the world. Created by Jeanne Larson, it justifies people's calls to remove Heard from the upcoming DC movie, with claims about Depp and Heard's relationship.
Depp's fans have backed him, in person and on social media, ever since the 2016 divorce battle in Los Angeles. Every day of the London Libel trial filed by Depp in 2020, fans showed up outside the courthouse to cheer for him. The Guardian reported that there's a #JusticeforJohnnyDepp hashtag campaign, where fans post supportive messages for him and for Dior's decision to keep Depp as the advertising face of their aftershave, Sauvage.
From Willy Wonka in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" to Captain Jack Sparrow in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise, Depp charmed people from all walks of life. The devotion and love his fans have shown over the years has been outstanding and continues to grow across the globe.
