Today is the birthday of celebrated film hero Alamgir. If he were young, Alamgir would celebrate the day through different activities, but nowadays he prefers to spend more time with his family.  

“Once upon a time, I used to celebrate the day with a bang, but as I am aging I don't have any plan outside. My near and dear ones wish me, and this makes me happy,” said Alamgir about his birthday plan. 

Alamgir, born on this day in 1950, stepped into the film industry with “Amar Janmobhumi”, and rose to fame through his second film “Dasshu Rani” where he acted alongside celebrated actress Shabana. Soon, Alamgir-Shabana became one of the most successful on-screen couples of Bangla films. Together they presented the audience with over 100 films, some of which were big hits at that time.

Alamgir won his first National Film Awards in 1985 for his film “Ma O Chhele”, and went on to win the National Award most times for a male actor.
