Moushumi-Milon to sizzle in 'Ratrir Jatri'

Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of 'Ratrir Jatri', a film starring Moushumi and Anisur Rahman Milon together for the first time. Helmed by Habibul Islam, the film has gotten the stamp of approval from the censor board, and is now set for release.

The director has stated that the film's agenda is to convey a social awareness message, while delivering entertainment. “The film has been tailored to fulfill the interests of the Bangladeshi audience, and we hope to release it during Eid ul Azha,” he adds.

Popular Dhaliwood superstar Moushumi plays the main protagonist named 'Moina'. The narrative revolves around a journey Moina undertakes during the dark hours of a night.

“I was drawn to the film's story and character immediately. Moina is a very strong character, and I was deeply immersed in the role,” says Moushumi. She also added that since the film has achieved the censor board's approval, cast members of the film have been jubilant.

Playing Moina's love interest is Anisur Rahman Milon, whose character is from an affluent family living in a small town. Their connection is thwarted by several incidents in the film, heightening anticipation of what will happen later in the film.

“Moushumi is one of the biggest stars in our country, and it is an honour to be able to work alongside her,” says Milon, “I believe the audience will enjoy the film, and I'm very happy with the work we've done here.”

Marking his return to film after quite some time is prominent actor Salahuddin Lavlu, who portrays a positive role in the movie. “ Ratrir Jatri has a strong team, which I believe will ensure it's success,” he informed The Daily Star.

Legendary actor ATM Shamsuzzaman is one of the renowned names among the cast members, and  is slated to appear as the rich, arrogant father of Moina. Popular actor Shahidul Alam Shachchu will play a police officer, while the late Raj Razzak's son Samrat makes an appearance as a doctor. Other cast members include Aruna Biswas, Shimul Khan, Rebecca Parveen, and more.

The film includes two musical scores, one of which has been jointly composed by Lemis and Asif Akbar. Rubayet Jahan lent his vocals to an item song in the film, which includes Naila Nayem in the dance routine.

The film is produced by Bank of Audio Visual Art. Regarding his hopes for the film, Habibul Islam states, “I hope to be able to release the film in every single theatre hall in the country.”
