“Ekti Cinema'r Golpo” releasing today

Cast and crew of the film launch the music album of the film through a ceremony.

Veteran actor-director Alamgir's latest big screen venture, “Ekti Cinema'r Golpo”, is set to release in theatres across the country today. The film held a launching ceremony for its music on Wednesday at the Dhaka Club, amid a gathering of noted personalities including the film's cast. 

At the event organised by Bangla Dhol, Alamgir, Runa Laila, Syed Hasan Imam, Faruk, Champa, Rituparna Sengupta, Arifin Shuvo, Ankhi Alamgir, Emon Shaha, Director's Association chairman Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar, Bangla Dhol owner Enamul Haque, Film Artistes'Association Zayed Khan, art director Uttam Guha, singer Jhilik and others were present. Filmmaker Mohammad Hossain Jemmy anchored the programme.

Speaking there, Alamgir said “I have made this film with a lot of love, and everyone who has worked on it has done the same. I hope the audience will go to cinemas to watch it, and encourage me to make such films in the future.”

Alamgir's wife, eminent singer Runa Laila said: “Since I arranged music for a song for this film, I am involved with the film as a composer; it's a new challenge for me.” She also wished the film all its best.

Noted Indian actor Rituparna Sengupta, who plays the female lead in the film, thanked Alamgir for making such a film. “After a long time a film of mine is releasing in Bangladesh,” she added.

“To work under Alamgir sir's direction is a big achievement in itself,” said the film's male lead Arifin Shuvo.

Aside from directing, Alamgir has written the script and screenplay for the film, and acts in it as well. Other cast members include Syed Hasan Imam, Champa, Sadek Bacchu and Saberi Alam. The film's songs have been written by Gazi Mazharul Anwar and Kabir Bakul, which have been sung by SI Tutul, Aditi Mohsin, Monir Khan, Bappa Mazumdar, Ankhi Alamgir and Jhilik.
