Even though Shobnom Bubly made her debut only two years ago, the popular film actor rapidly rose to fame. Her performances have earned her the Meril Prothom Alo Award for Best New Actress, and the diva continues to slay her way to success with two new movie releases during Eid-ul-Fitr. Previously known as a relatively shy girl, she has come out of her bubble to become as flamboyant as ever. Bubly shares more in a recent interview with The Daily Star.

What are you currently busy with?

Bubly: My filming schedule is quite vigorous now. I traveled to Cox's Bazar for Captain Khan, which stars Shakib Khan. Other cast members in the film include Misha Sawdagor, Sadeq Bachchu, and many more. Two of my films will release this Eid. One is titled Super Hero, directed by Ashiqur Rahman, the other is Chittainga Powa Noakhailla Maiya, directed by Uttom Akash.

How do you think the audience will respond?

Bubly: My character in Super Hero is very different from the type I am normally cast in, which I believe will interest viewers. Chittainga Powa Noakhailla Maiya is a comedy film, where I will be speaking in the Noakhali dialect for the first time.

All of the films you have worked in featured Shakib Khan as your co-artiste. Is there a reason for that?

Bubly: Casting is entirely in the hands of the director. After the success of Bossgiri, we have been working together continuously. Shakib Khan is the biggest star of our country right now, and people enjoy watching him with any actor. But I can tell you this much that the audience will see me working with other actors in the near future.

Have you begun filming for Priyotoma?

Bubly: Filming preparations are still underway. Hopefully we will begin working after Eid. I am really looking forward to this project.

Will you be appearing in special programmes for Eid-ul-Fitr?

Bubly: Owing to the new film releases, Shakib Khan and I have been asked to appear in various programmes. There are plans to work together on this, and I will be appearing solo in a few special shows as well.

Where will you spend Eid this year?

Bubly: I will be in Dhaka, with my family. After Eid I will be traveling abroad for filming.
