Police have confirmed that the three objects found at two courtrooms at a building of the High Court were bombs.  
Each of the bombs, weighing 500gm, contains explosive substances and powerful than cocktails.
Rahmatullah Chowdhury, a senior assistant commissioner (Bomb Disposal Unit) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said the explosives have been sent to the Department of Explosives to determine its type.  
The bombs were found at two courtrooms at the annex building of the High Court this afternoon.
The court sources said the staffers found two bomb-like objects inside books at the courtroom No. 17 of the annex building around 4:50pm when they were going to close the room at the end of the day’s proceedings.
Bomb disposal unit of police recovered the objects to examine whether they are bombs.
The ejlash of the court is presided over by Justice Md Nizamul Huq and Justice SH Md Nurul Huda Jaigirdar.
A police official on duty requesting anonymity told The Daily Star that the law enforcers could not yet suspect or arrest anyone in connection with the incident.
Earlier around 2:00pm, a bomb-like object was found in a book inside the courtroom No. 9 of the same building.
None was arrested in this regard, police said.
A bench officer found the ball-like object wrapped up with red tape and informed the authorities concerned.
It was kept inside a law book, hollowed in the inside, kept on a bench of a courtroom No. 9 at the annex building of the High Court.
Panic gripped among the judges, lawyers, and court staff as the news spread.
Justice Zinat Ara and Justice Md Habibul Gani usually use the room on the first floor for dealing with cases.
Hearing information, the court authorities informed the experts of the bomb disposal unit of police. Later, they recovered the object along with the book from the scene.
Earlier on Saturday, a homemade bomb was also hurled inside the BTV office at Rampura in Dhaka.
