3 killed as train hit human hauler in Natore

Three women of a family were killed and 10 others injured as a train hit a human hauler on a level crossing in Natore Sadar Upazila today.
The dead are Sundari Beyoa, 55, Julekha Begum, 45, and Sajeda Begum, residents of Paikordal area of the upazila, reports our Natore correspondent.
The accident took place around 1:00pm when Barendra Express rammed the human hauler (locally known as Bhatbhati) which was passing through a level crossing near Yasinpur Railway Station in the upazila, said Basudev Banik, superintendent of police in Natore.
Sundari, Julekha and Sajeda died on the spot while the injured people were whisked off to the Natore Sadar Hospital.
Though there is a level crossing, no gateman was assigned there, SP Basudev said.
The victims were going to their relatives' home.
