Robbers stab hotel manager, loot Tk 50,000

Local people chased and caught two robbers, out of three, who looted Tk 50,000 from a residential hotel after stabbing its manager in the city yesterday. Police said three robbers equipped with lethal weapons stormed into Sakhina Residential Hotel at Osman Gani Road in Kotwali area at around 5:30pm. They stabbed Korban Hossain Tipu, 35, manager of the hotel, twice and took away the money from his possession. As the victim screamed for help, hotel staffs and locals chased the gang and caught hold two of them -- Zafrul, 26, and Khorshed, 20. The mob beat them up before handing them over to the police. The other robber, however, managed to escape with the booty and lethal weapons.
