Design contest for IEH extension project soon
Islamia Eye Hospital (IEH) and the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently to organise an architectural design competition for the design of proposed extension of Islamia Eye Hospital at Farmgate in Dhaka, says a press release. IEH Director Khondkar Tajuddin Ahmed and IAB President Mubasshar Hussain signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations. The extension project will greatly enhance IEH's capacity to serve eye patients. Architectural competition is universally accepted as the most appropriate method of selecting building designs. A formal announcement of the competition will be made shortly inviting designs from architectural firms of Bangladesh. Under the agreement, IAB will provide all necessary support to IEH in selecting the best design among the entries.
