Wearing shrouds, dozens of teachers under the banner of Bangladesh Community Primary Teachers' Association from different areas of the country are taking part in programme.

The association leaders said with firmness that they would not backtrack from their fast unto death programme until their longstanding demands are fulfilled.

"By no means, the government can now set aside the community primary schoolteachers' demands as it had promised in this regard before the last parliament election "," Association Secretary General Hafizur Rahman told The Daily Star.

The government is cheating with 10000 teachers of 3778 community primary schools by not fulfilling their demand for hundred percent salary of the national pay scale, he viewed.
