400-run Partex Div I champs

Partex Sporting Club clinched the First Division Cricket League title in style yesterday when they rewrote the record books by becoming the first team to reach the 400-mark in a limited-overs match at this level.

Partex's 186-run defeat of Dhaka Mariner Club at the City Club ground was their 15th win in 16 matches.

After electing to bat, Partex amassed exactly 400 for seven in allotted 50 overs with Shakil hammering 108 and Nirala 95.

In reply, Mariners were bundled out for 214 in 45 overs.

In the day's other matches, Surjo Torun (237-9) handed a 48-run defeat to Lalmatia Club (189) at the Dhaka University ground while Dhanmondi Club (245-8) thumped Young Pegasus B (154) by 91 runs at Fatullah Stadium.
