Chairman of Dhaka Education Board Prof Shaheda Obaid was present as chief guest while Golam Sarwar, editor of the daily Samakal and president of the school managing committee, presided over the function held on the premises of the school.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Shaheda Obaid called on the teachers to play an active role in raising the quality of education.

Moazzem Hossain Bhuiyan, headmaster of the school, and Ward Commissioner Dr Hafizul Islam also spoke.

Later, Prof Shaheda Obaid distributed prizes among 41 students who have secured GPA-5 in the SSC examination and the winners of the annual sports and cultural competitions.
