Workshop on Aids prevention info for school
PIACT Bangladesh organised a divisional workshop on 'Review of draft text materials on HIV/Aids prevention information for Secondary and Higher Secondary School' in Mymensingh recently, says a press release.The workshop for Dhaka division held at the NAPE auditorium is part of a process of incorporating information about prevention of the deadly disease into the school curriculum. Angela Smith, fund portfolio manager, GFATM, was present as chief guest. Prof Hannana Begum, member, Curriculum, Textbook Board, Fatima Yousuf, director, MIS, Directorate of Family Planning, and representative from Save the Children (USA) and PIACT Bangladesh also attended the workshop. The government has started a project on 'Prevention of HIV/Aids among Youth and Adolescent in Bangladesh' under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, National Aids/STD programme, Directorate of Health Service. The project is aimed at ensuring that young people have the knowledge, skills and services that they need to protect themselves from HIV/AIDS.
