Jessore Rape Case
6-year-old boy gets bail

Six-year-old boy Imon was granted bail in the March 2 rape and riot case recorded with the Jessore Kotwali Police Station after his surrender on Tuesday to the court of First Class Magistrate Abdur Rob.

The minor boy was named as one of the accused of rape and riot in the First Information Report (FIR) lodged by local BNP leader Abul Kalam Shamsuddin.

The implication of a six-year-old boy in the rape and riot case triggered widespread indignation among the local people.

Meanwhile, following the record of the FIR without any preliminary investigation, Sub Inspector Khalilur Rahman was suspended and Assistant Sub Inspector Humayun Kabir closed to police lines for negligence of duty.

Jessore Krishak League leader Abdur Rob is among the eight FIR-listed accused that includes his minor son, other sons and daughter.
