Meet deadline for construction of roads, bridges: FM


Foreign Minister M Morshed Khan yesterday directed the officials to take effective steps to meet the deadline for construction of roads, bridges, culverts and other communication infrastructures in the district.

The minister was reviewing the progress of essential infrastructures in the Chittagong-10 parliamentary constituency at a meeting with public representatives and officials.

Morshed Khan said the alliance government is pledge-bound to ensure balanced development across the country. The government has fulfilled most of the pledges in the last three years and the rest of the work will be accomplished in the next years, he said.

He urged the public representatives to play a pioneering role in development efforts and not to depend only on the government officials in this regard.

The minister informed the meeting about construction of the Chandgaon-Panchlaish connecting road involving Tk 10 lakh from the Prime Minister's Fund.

President of Chittagong south unit of BNP Ahmed Khalil Khan, local BNP leaders Ershad Ullah, Morshedul Alam Quaderi, chief executive of Zilla Parishad Mohammad Mofazzal Hossain and other officials were present.
