Zafar Imam laid to rest

The late secretary general of Bangladesh Olympic Association and eminent sports organiser Zafar Imam was laid to rest at the Banani Graveyard yesterday.Earlier in the morning, his body was flown to his home district Rajshahi where more than 10,000 people attended his namaz-e-janaza at the district stadium. Special prayers will be offered at the National Sports Council (NSC) this afternoon. His qulkhwani will be held at the Dhanmondi Women's Sports Complex tomorrow at 4 pm. A condolence meeting will be organised at the NSC conference room at 4 pm on the next day. Meanwhile, Asian Football Confederation president Mohammad bin Hammam and general secretary Peter Velappan sent a condolence message.
