Confusing vitamin A with polio doses

If you look back on the last page of your daily dated 23rd of October, 2003 you will find a big photograph of a child receiving a capsule. The caption reads that the government launched the second round of a polio vaccine programme. It is surprising to note that the press remains oblivious to many intricacies and subtleties involved in government actions. In reality, the government launched a new campaign to give vitamin A capsules along with de-worming tablets, thus naming it Vitamin A plus campaign. This has got nothing to do with the polio.
