At least 145 more police personnel have won the battle against Covid-19 and left hospital today.

They were being treated at Central Police Hospital and were released today after their results came negative in two consecutive tests, said Sohel Rana, assistant inspector general (media) of Police Headquarters (PHQ).

With them, nearly 500 police personnel have so far recovered from infections.

Meanwhile, the number of total infected police personnel stands at 2,749 till this noon of whom 1,095 are from Dhaka Metropolitan Police only, according to a tally of Police Headquarters.

Nine of them died from Covid-19 infections. Besides, nearly 4,500 police personnel were either in isolation or quarantine till today, sources said.

As the Central Police Hospital is struggling to deal with the huge number of patients, police authorities have booked a private hospital to treat its members.
