Marking the birth centenary celebrations of master painter Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin, a 13-day programme began in Mymensingh town yesterday.

He was born on December 29 in 1914 in Mymensingh.

Jahanara Abedin, wife of Zainul Abedin, inaugurated the programme organised by Brammashaily, an organisation for painters, at Charutola near Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin Art Gallery.

In the morning a colorful rally was brought out and a discussion following a photography exhibition was held in the opening session. The programme also includes an art exhibition, a painting competition, an art workshop and documentary film shows.
