A Malian jihadist was to appear for the first time yesterday before international war crimes judges, accused of demolishing Timbuktu's fabled shrines, as well as rape, torture and sex slavery.  Al Hassan Ag Abdoul Aziz, a member of the Ansar Dine jihadist group, was the "de facto chief of the Islamic police" in Timbuktu, the ICC said.
