West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee yesterday stepped her attack on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his party as the Indian state prepares for high-stake assembly elections due by April. "I will be the goalkeeper during the upcoming Assembly polls and the BJP will not be able to score a single goal," said the firebrand leader addressing a rally in Hoogly. In a vitriolic attack, she accused Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah of spreading lies and hatred throughout the country. She said "a fate worse than" that of former US President Donald Trump awaits Modi.
