Criticising the activities of Awami League-led 14-party combine, Workers Party today termed it a “press conference based political platform”.

There is no meaning in keeping ally with the grand alliance if it does not remain active in political issues, the leaders of the party, a component in the alliance, said while addressing a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital this afternoon.

They also criticised the government saying that it has some weakness including absence of good governance.

“And the country will not move forward if we cannot ensure good governance and cannot stop tender manipulation, corruption, criminal activities and fighting in educational institutions,” said Rashed Khan Menon, chief of the party.

The rally was organised under the banner of ‘Resist the fundamentalist and imperialist forces, remove crisis in public lives, and protect democratic and non-communal Bangladesh.’
