Trucker, helper burnt in Bogra arson attack

The driver and helper of a coal-laden truck were burnt in a firebomb attack on the Dhaka-Bogra highway in Bogra's Shajahanpur upazila this evening.
Both driver Abdul Kader, 38, and helper Liton Kazi, 26, hailed from Pabna's Shathiya upazila, reports our Bogra correspondent.
Unidentified pickets hurled a firebomb at the Manikganj-bound truck from Dinajpur when it reached Betgari area around 8:15pm, Abdul Mannan, officer-in-charge of Shajahanpur Police Station, told The Daily Star.
The victims were rushed to Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
Liton suffered 20 percent burns, while Kader 10 percent, said Dr Shahidullah Dewan of the hospital.
Meanwhile, a bus was gutted when miscreants threw a firebomb at the vehicle in Tangail's Ghatail upazila this evening.
Two passengers were injured while coming out of the bus, OC Mokhlesur Rahman of Ghatail Police Station told our Tangail correspondent.
The bus came under the attack at Pakutiya around 8:30pm on its way to Tangail from Mymensingh.
