Car-jackers killed a driver and took away his office microbus dumping the body by Saddam Market in the city's Jatrabari yesterday.

The deceased was identified as Liton, 32, of Jatrabari and a driver of Ananna Enterprise.

On information, police recovered the body around 12:30pm and sent it to Sir Salimullah Medical College Morgue for autopsy. Liton's employer Selim identified the body.

At the hospital Fatema, the victim's wife, said Liton left home Thursday night saying he was going on a trip outside Dhaka. He never returned.

Officer-in-charge Mohammad Moniruzzaman of Jatrabari Police Station told The Daily Star that they recovered the microbus abandoned at Matuail in Jatrabari Thursday night.

He said the snatchers might have killed Liton somewhere else and dumped the body at Jatrabari.

Selim said the criminals might have left the microbus due to police patrol in the area.
