THROUGH THE EYES OF NIMA RAHMAN

INSPIRATION
Unquestionably, my mother, Hasina Rahman is my first inspiration. She has always been very motivational in flourishing my potential in singing, reciting and acting. Even when I was a kid and couldn't read the dialogues by myself, my mother read the lines and taught me how to give my best. My uncle, the renowned legendary artiste Mustafa Monwar, is also my inspiration. I admire him as my guru. Holding his hand, I started my journey in reciting, anchoring and acting. My grandfather Golam Mostafa was also avery well-known poet and a renowned cultural personality. My cultural bloodline has always motivated me to relate myself with this heavenly grace of arts and culture.
PHILOSOPHY
The philosophy of my life is doing quality work. I think people should not run after quantity; rather they should go for quality because it can please anyone with honor. I practice it in my personal life and I even played my roles in only a few dramas.I also believe in honesty. In my opinion, to become successful in life, a person must work with honesty, passion and dedication.
VIEWS ON HER PROFESSION
Art is the image of life. It can be created by accumulating the elements of nature. That meansevery element of art comes from nature and when we give it a different dimension, it becomes art. I think my passions for acting, reciting and anchoring areall blended together in one frame. I must say that I am blessed to have some extremely good instructors. They are my gurus and I can find their reflections on me. It is a matter of sorrow that our new generation are not interested in any long-term learning process, rather they prefer shortcuts to become famous. They need to follow the footsteps of their honorable instructors to become sustainable and successful artists. I urge the young generation to study a lot, do research as much as possible, and always be sincere, passionate and dedicated to their work.Weshould take proper initiatives to encourage our young generation and uplift their taste of arts and culture.
BOOKS
I love reading storybooks, but love autobiographical books the most. Any kind of autobiographical books, mostly English ones, are my most favorites.
FILMS
I have watched plenty of movies of different languages. The movies of Satyajit Ray are my favorites. Pather Panchali, Apur Sansar and Charulata are some of my favorite movies by Satyajit Ray. Paromitar Ek Din by Aparna Sen is one of my most favorite movies.
MUSIC
Although I like listening to various kinds of songs, I love Rabindra Sangeet the most. It has an amazing charm that never fails to bewilder me.
FUTURE PLANS
Theatre has always been my loyal companion. Recently, I can't be too active in my theatrical works, but I would love to start working on stage again. Currently, I am acting in a film. In future, I have a plan to act in more films of good qualities.
IDOLS
My mother is, without a doubt, my first idol and my life-time inspiration. My uncle Mustafa Monwar and my instructor Waheedul Haq are also my idols. I also love the ideologies of Aparna Sen. She taught me how a person can cope up with unfavorable situations and become successful in life with the strength of sincerity and dedication.
