Movie Review: Bossgiri

Bossgiri

Director: Shamim Ahamed Rony

Writer: Abdullah Zahir Babu

Cast: Shakib Khan, Bubly, Sadek Bachchu, Majnun Mizan, Amit Hassan

Runtime: 165 mins

Strength: Cast, Songs

Weakness: Story

Rating: 3/5

Plot: The story of a man looking to earn a decent living, eventually falls into circumstances that forces him to turn into the don of a city.

Review: The script provides no originality in any way and coupled with the lack of direction in terms of story telling, the film becomes very hard to watch.

There were some highlights in the film such as Shakib Khan's delivery of the Dhakaiya accent, which was fairly entertaining. Shakib Khan's presence is the only saving grace in the entire film.

Other missed opportunities include costumes, hairstyles and notably choreography, which could have helped save the movie to some extent.

Making her the debut in this film, Bubly, performed rather satisfactory, looking glamorous in a couple of shots during the songs.

The songs in the film are enjoyable, especially "Dil Dil", which was quite entertaining.

The movie is watch-worthy for die-hard Shakib fans only, and for those looking for an all-round experience, the movie may not meet their expectations.
