What was the first film in which you debuted as an actor?

It was the film "Bhalobasha Bhalobasha", which was directed by Mohammad Hannan. I had Shabnoor as my co-artist and I have to say, I managed to charm the audience despite that being my first film.

What are the names of your films that you personally admire?

So far 28 of my films has been released. The first one was "Bhalobasha Bhalobasha" as was just pointed out. Then I performed in "Jamindar Barir Meye" directed by Azizur Rahman, followed by "Kaajer Manush" directed by Mantazur Rahman, "Atto Gopon" and "Nag Naginir Shopno" directed by M. M. Sarkar, "Prem Korbo Tomar Sathe" directed by Rakibul Alam Rakib, "Toke Bhalobashtei Hobe" by Raju Chowdhury, "Bangla Bhai", "Nagor Mastaan" and "Shimahin Bhalobasha" directed by Monowar Khokon. These are just a few of the movies I would want to mention.

Do you have any upcoming movies?

Quite a few actually. "Antor Jala" by Malik Afsari, with Pori Moni as my heroine, is coming out soon. There are also more upcoming movies of mine like "Ea Desh Tomar Amar" by F. I. Manik, "Love in Malaysia" by Mantazur Akbar, and "Tomar Preme Porechi" by Mustafizur Rahman Babu. I am currently shooting in two other movies: "Hridoy Choya Bhalobasha" and "Mission Six".

Tell us something about your family.

My mother, Shaheda Haque, had received the award for "Ratnagorbha" from Azad Products in 2012. I am the youngest in a family of three brothers and one sister. We all graduated from Dhaka University. Everyone in the family wanted me to do some sort of desk job, but as you can see, I became an actor instead. My sister was the one who helped me step into the world of cinema.

What are your views on love?

Love is temporary in the life of an actor. It does not last long. I have a lot to do, so let's see what happens in the end. Truth to be told, I am good friends with a handful of actresses, but I have to say that I am not in love with any of them.

Who are your favorite actresses?

My most favorite actress is Shabnoor. Then I have to mention Pori Moni, for whom I have played a significant role in bringing to the film industry.

You are standing for the position of General Secretary in Film Artists Association Election. What are your thoughts?

I want to work for the people in films. I want to make the most out of the senior artists. I have a dream of taking Bangla films to a new level by working alongside the wonderful talents. I want to stop any injustice in the industry with assistance from everyone. At the end of the day, I just want to persevere for the betterment of future films. I have always worked with the view that we are all "consciously one" and we will continue to uphold that unity.
