The biggest automotive show in the world kicks off every year at Geneva. The chance to showcase the most important cars and the latest tech in a manufacturer's lineup means they often compete for the globe's attention by one upping each other with outrageous cars. Here's our picks - the best from 2018.

Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept

Toyota's legendary Supra name returns with this Gazoo Racing Concept, which teases the actual production version launching very soon, which will be built with BMW. The GR Supra Racing comes years after they showed the world the FT1 concept, which will be present at our very own 2018 Dhaka Motor Show.

BMW M8 Gran Coupe

The Germans are taking product diversification quite seriously, with multiple "four door coupes" across product lines. BMW is no different – along with the 6 series Gran Coupe, they're looking at expanding the range with the M8 Gran Coupe, which might just be the most breathtaking BMW sedan design ever. It takes aggression and elegance and bends these words to its own will, and the results are gorgeous. 

Porsche Mission E Cross Tourismo

Porsche is cementing its dedication to developing driver focused electrics with the Mission E Cross Tourismo – basically a sleek sports-crossover derived from the previous Mission E concept car. Porsche makes big claims about its electric range, but we're yet to see any of their electrics enter production, so the jury's still out on those claims.  

Mercedes Benz AMG GT63

Exactly opposite to the BMW M8 Gran Coupe, the new Benz "four door coupe" is as ugly as gets – snouty, awkward and resembling the first generation Porsche Panamera, at which point you'd expect the idiot who designed this to develop a drinking habit. But then this person won't – fairly certain they'll have some more hideous machines coming our way soon enough.  

RIMAC C-Two

The previous Rimac car nearly killed off TV's smallest automotive journalist, but they're promising the C-Two has been designed specifically to keep Richard Hammond from crashing (not really). The C-Two is expected to be a much improved car though, with 1900 HP and 2300 NM of torque. Yikes.   

Bugatti Chiron Sport

Bugatti usually releases Sport or Super Sport versions of their hypercars after they've broken a few records, as a way to fend off challengers to the top speed throne. But then the Chiron hasn't really set, or broken, any speed records yet. For now, the Chiron Sport features special paint, improved handling and less weight, with no change in power figures or top-speed. Did the Chiron really need more handling?

Bentley Bentayga Hybrid

Bentley is creating a new dimension in the super-expensive, luxury spec, fast SUV category – they're one of the first from the likes of Porsche, Jaguar, Maserati and Alfa Romeo to offer up a hybrid super-SUV. The Bentayga hybrid is powered by a 3.0 litre turbo V6 paired to an electric motor – power figures and mileage have not been released.   

Range Rover SV Coupe

Range Rover goes back to its two-door roots with the SV coupe, developed by Jaguar-Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations division. Only 999 will be produced, with special hand assembly that will cater to each customer's specific requests, offering huge levels of customisation through SVO's catalogue. The paint is special too – a liquid metal finish called Liquesence. Fancy.  

TATA EVision Concept

TATA steps up its design game and expresses the desire to be serious about electrics with the EVision electric car concept. It looks really good – if not a bit conventional. It looks like a mix between a late 2000s Ford Mondeo, with sharper lines and wider shoulders. TATA has been teasing several good looking concepts recently – it's time they geared up and actually launched production models that people can buy.
