SAFF Women's Championship: Bangladesh beat Afghanistan 6-1

Bangladesh defeated Afghanistan 6-1 in the 3rd SAFF Women's Championship at the Jinnah Stadium, Islamabad this afternoon.
Earlier, in the last two editions of the premier women's football tournament of the sub-continent Bangladesh has never faced Afghanistan, it would be the first occasion for the female booters against the war torn country, reports Bangladesh Football Federation.
All Eight countries from SAARC area is taking part in this championship with India, Afghanistan, Maldives, Bangladesh in group A while the Group B comprises Nepal, Pakistan, Bhutan, Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh will be facing defending champions India on November 15 and wrap the group commitments up on November 17 against Maldives. The top two of each group will face in the semifinals to be played on November 19 and the final will be held on November 21.
Bangladesh reached the semifinals at Cox's Bazar on 2010 and was eliminated in the group stage in Sri Lanka in 20102.
