‘Rubel might be replaced’

With his future uncertain after he landed in the jail today, there is a possibility that pacer Rubel Hossain could be replaced by another bowler for Bangladesh’s upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup campaign, cricket news website ESPNcricinfo reported.
The biggest cricketing tournament is taking place in Australia and New Zealand from February 14 to March 29. The Bangladesh cricket team is scheduled to fly for Brisbane on January 24.
Talking to ESPNcricinfo, Nizamuddin Chowdhury, chief executive officer of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), said that it was too early to comment on the issue, but discussions were on.
"We are discussing the matter, so it is quite early to say what we are planning to do," he said.
"But he had been handling the matter personally so far. If he fails to join the squad in time, we have a contingency plan in place."
