Sheikh Rehana, Putul made AL councilors

With just weeks remaining for the council of the ruling Awami League, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's younger daughter Sheikh Rehana and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's daughter Saima Wazed Putul have been made party councilors from Dhaka South City Corporation.
Awami League’s Dhaka City South unit kept the names of the duo as councilors yesterday after getting nod from the party’s Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif.
Recently, the premier’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy became councilor from Rangpur while Rehana's only son Radwan Mujib Siddiq Bobby was made councilor from the Dhaka City North AL unit.
They will attend as AL councilors in the party’s national council on October 22-23 for the first time.
“The presence of Bangabandhu’s family members [Rehana, Putul, Joy & Bobby] will add a new dimension to the party’s council,” Hanif told The Daily Star today.
