Prof Mizanuddin

Prof Muhammad Mizanuddin of sociology department was made vice chancellor of Rajshahi University yesterday for four years.
Prof Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan of the geology and mining department has been made pro-vice chancellor of the university for the same period.
The posts of the university have been vacant since February 25.
Prof Mizan told The Daily Star that he sought co-operation from all to run the university as per the Rajshahi University Act, 1973.
Prof Mizan joined the university in 1978. He was the chairman of sociology department, dean of social science faculty, and president and general secretary of the Rajshahi University Teachers' Association (Ruta).
Meanwhile, Prof Md Mahbubar Rahman has been appointed vice chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University in Gazipur.
Prof Rahman began his career at the Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture in 1978 as a scientific officer.
