I saw late National Professor Nurul Islam in his early active life from 1956 to 1962. He was very punctual in his office. He was a man of almost unparalleled style in his time.
His presentation of scientific papers in any scientific meeting or conference would be extremely charming and enjoyable as well as attractive both at home and abroad.
When teaching, he used to make the subject most simple and enjoyable to his students. The way he behaved with his patients was extraordinary. The patients especially who had tuberculosis were the most pleased with him.
As the chairman of the national drug administration committee, he served the nation with his profound knowledge towards selecting drugs for patients.
Last but not the least; he established a big university named USTC in Chittagong along with two residential halls for both male and female students.
We pray for his departed soul.
