Moutushi's exciting journey

moutushiMoutushi Biswas created a major stir with her role as Paula in Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's series “Ekannoborti”. For Moutushi, that role marked an upward journey in her career. “People began to call me Paula when the series was telecast,” says Moutushi with pride. Moutushi began her career with commercials directed by Afzal Hossain. However, she had always set her heart on being a successful actress. Now her dream seems within reach. Many directors have offered her roles after her performance in the “Ekannoborti” series. After “Ekannoborti”, Farooki cast her opposite Ferdous in his film “Bachelor”, which also made it big on the movie scene.

The Daily Star caught up with the artiste on her professional life:

How was the experience of working in your first movie?

Moutushi: Basically, Farooki knows exactly how to get the best of his actors and he made sure I put my best foot forward as well.

What have you been up to lately?

Moutushi: Ntv is telecasting two serials where I have roles: “Bhalobashar Chatushkon” and “Oghoton Ghoton Potiyoshi”. Apart from that, a TV play I did for Eid-ul-Fitr, “Araley” opposite Afzal Hossain, was appreciated by many.

Do you plan to continue seriously as a TV show host?

Moutushi: I enjoy hosting shows. I never thought I would get such great public response from it. But ultimately, it will depend on the programme.

You are also fond of dancing. Tell us a little about it.

Moutushi: Other than acting, modelling and hosting, I feel great when I dance. I learnt dancing in my childhood at the school of Sharmila Banerjee.

While studying in grade 7, I actually won a gold medal at a National children's competition.

You have also recently become a mother. How are things on that front?

Moutushi: My daughter is 16 months old now; it has been a fantastic journey so far. I love spending time with her.
