Bicycle sharing service Jobike started its commercial operation in Cox's Bazar and inside Jahangirnagar University campus yesterday.

Earlier, the company completed running its service on a pilot basis on the same areas, the company said in a statement.

The firm added more bicycles to its fleet observing the high demand of students at the university during the pilot programme, said Mehedi Reza, founder and chief executive of Jobike.

“Therefore, we are increasing the number of bicycles so that the students can roam around riding Jobike conveniently with affordable price inside the campus.”

“We are also working to enhance the technology furthermore."

Jobike also plans to expand its services to other areas of Bangladesh, including public universities, in the near future.
