Film actor and Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) ward councillor Monwar Hossain Dipjol was released on High Court bail from Dhaka Central Jail yesterday.
"Dipjol walked out of the Dhaka Central Jail around 6:00pm," jail Superintendent Towhidul Islam told The Daily Star.
He was convicted for 39 years' and six months in four separate cases.
Dipjol, also a BNP leader, was arrested on December 9 in 2008 from a house at Adabar in the city after two years in hideout. Dipjol was sent to jail the following day.
