MPs-elect vow to fight corruption

Elected parliamentary members (MPs) here yesterday vowed to eliminate corruption from the country to live up to expectations of voters.
They took this vow at a discussion organised during a reception accorded to them by members of Dinajpur Press Club at its auditorium. They also agreed to continue trial of corrupt suspects belonging to any political party.
Dinajpur Press Club president Chitta Ghosh presided the meeting. Golam Nabi Dulal conducted the reception ceremony.
In his address, Monoranjan Shill Gopal, MP-elect of Dinajpur-1 constituency thanked Sector Commanders' Forum for creating public awareness against war criminal which influenced voters.
Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, MP-elect of Dinajpur-2 seat said he would work for welfare of people who were deprived of their basic rights during last five years misrule of BNP-led four-party alliance.
Both Iqbalur Rahim, MP-elect of Dinajpur-3 and AHM Mahmud, MP-elect of Dinajpur-4 seat pledged to undertake development projects after formation of government.
Two other elected MPs, Mostafizur Rahman Fizar of Dinajpur-5 seat and Dr Azizul Haque Chowdhury of Dinajpur-6 seat could not attend the reception ceremony due to their preoccupations at their constituencies.
