A Dhaka court sent Khagrachhari Hill District Council (KHDC) Chairman Monindra Lal Tripura to jail after he was produced before it yesterday.
Monindra was arrested from the house of his relative Prabin Chandra Chakma at Raja Bazar in Dhaka at about 4:30pm on Friday in connection with the murder of former KHDC councillor Anupam Tripura.
During the interrogation by the police at Detective Branch (DB) office yesterday, he denied his involvement in the murder, police source said.
Former KHDC councillor Anupam Tripura was allegedly killed by poison on July 11 this year in the capital.
