Former BNP lawmaker Sohrab Uddin and four others were sued yesterday for extortion.
Altaf Hossain of Majampur in Sadar upazila filed the case with Sadar Police Station.
The other accused include Sohrab's younger brother and District Bus & Minibus Owners' Association President Shihab Uddin, Rabiul Islam, Rejaul Islam and Abdus Salam.
The plaintiff alleged that the accused demanded Tk 20 lakh as toll from him on February 1, 2004.
When contacted, Sohrab denied the allegation.
