2 missing after being 'picked up' by Rab

Claims IU Shibir

Islamic University (IU) unit Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) yesterday claimed that its two leaders went missing after "law enforcers picked up them from a bus" on Saturday.
IU unit ICS yesterday afternoon at a press conference at IU TSCC cafeteria blamed law enforcement agencies, specially Rapid Action Battalion (Rab), for the "missing."
IU unit ICS president Tareq Manwar in a written statement said a team of Rab introduced themselves as Rab 4 stopped the bus of Hanif Enterprise (bus no-3750) at Nabinagar in Savar at about 12:30pm on February 4 in the name of checking it up.
Quoting the driver of the bus and his helper, the ICS president in the statement said after checking the bus, the Rab men "picked up" Al Mukaddas, cultural affairs secretary, and Waliullah, finance secretary of ICS, from the vehicle when they were returning from Dhaka.
Lt Col Abdulla Ibne Zaid, commanding officer of Rab 4, told The Daily Star that they did not arrest anybody named Mukaddas or Waliullah.
A GD was lodged with Darussalam Police Station in Savar on February 6 in this connection, it added.
Mukaddas is the 3rd year student of AL Fiqh while Waliullah 4th year student of Daw'ah and Islamic Studies of the university.
