Noted media and theatre personality Mamunur Rashid last performed in a radio play in 1972. The play was Shaheed Munier Chowdhury's “Kabor”.
After a hiatus of four decades, the thespian has performed in another radio play, this time in a serial titled “Paruler Shangshar”. In the serial, Rashid enacts the role of a local landlord of a village.
Rashid is happy to return to the radio after such a long interval. He said, “I want to perform on radio. But as a professional artiste sometimes it becomes tough, as the remuneration for a radio play is extremely low as compared to a TV play.” He informed that from now on, he will feature quite often in radio plays.
