A commemorative book titled Pathikrit Sangskritik Bektitya Husna Banu Khanam was launched on August 14, at Senate Hall of Dhaka University. Nurjahan Begum, editor of the weekly magazine Begum, launched the book. Noted cultural personalities discussed life and work of Husna Banu Khanam, a pioneering cultural activist of our country.
Nurjahan Begum, the chief guest, said, "We should keep alive Husna Banu's legacy." Husna Banu Khanam, she went on to assert, was a source of inspiration for Begum. Professor Latifa Akhand, poet Hayat Saif, Siddiqa Kabir, noted singer Ferdousi Rahman, fashion designer Bibi Russell also spoke at the programme. Mustafa Zaman Abbasi presided over the programme.
Noted singer Samina Chowdhury edited the book, while Sonarang Prakashani published the book.
