Noted Tagore singer Rezwana Chowdhury Bonna, along with dance duo Anisul Islam Hero and Sabrina Shafi Nisa, went to Canada recently to perform at two programmes arranged by the Bangladesh High Commission in Canada to mark the birth anniversaries of Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam, says a press release.
The first programme was held on May 13 at the Canadian Museum of Civilisation Theatre. Bangladeshi High Commissioner to Canada Yakub Ali attended the programme. The second programme was held later at Toronto Legion Hall. The second programme was jointly organised by the Bangladesh High Commission and expatriate Bangladeshis.
Bonna enthralled the audience with her soulful renditions at the programmes. Hero and Nisa performed dances with Rabindra, Nazrul and folk songs. Noted media personality Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury recited poems at the programmes. Canadian high officials and citizens as well as expatriates Bangladeshis enjoyed the programmes.
