The Flag Raising Ceremony of newly established 403 battle group and five units under its command was held at Momenshahi Cantonment in Mymensingh yesterday.
Chief of Army Staff General Md Abdul Mubeen was present inaugurated the 403 battle group as the chief guest, said an ISPR release.
GOC of Army Training and Doctrine Command (ARTDOC) Major General Anwar Hossain inaugurated five units under its command. The units are : 31 Bangladesh Infantry Regiment, 15 Independent Armoured Squadron, 34 Independent Field Battery Artillery, 45 Independent Field Company Engineers and 99 Independent division Support Company ceremonially by raising flags.
General Mubeen in his speech said the main objectives of Army Training and Doctrine is to keep prepared soldiers for tackling any situation in future by providing quality training to Bangladesh Army.
“Establishment of ARTDOC is a matter of great pride of us as a few developed countries possessed a defence installation like ARTDOC,” he added.
After establishment as 8th formation of Bangladesh Army on July 25 in 2007, ARTDOC has been working as the centre of all kinds of military training with the theme "Victory Through Excellence".
Adjutant General of Bangladesh Army Major General ATM Shahidul Islam, Ghatail Area Commander and GOC of 19 Infantry Division Major General Mohammad Mahboob Haider Khan and senior civil and military officers were present on the occasion.
