After a two-day recess the Supreme Court will resume hearing on the appeals in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman assassination case for the 10th day today.
On Thursday the five-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Justice Md Tafazzul Islam adjourned the hearing till this morning.
Barrister Abdullah-al-Mamun, counsel for convicts Bazlul Huda and AKM Mohiuddin, will place his arguments on behalf of Bazlul Huda before the apex court today.
Mamun yesterday told The Daily Star that he started presenting inconsistencies between witness statements of the case on Thursday and he would continue to do so today.
There are huge inconsistencies between witness statements of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman murder case and the apex court will scrutinise those, he said.
Five convicts -- dismissed army personnel Syed Faruque Rahman, Sultan Shahriar Rashid Khan, Mohiuddin Ahmed, AKM Mohiuddin, and Bazlul Huda, now behind the bars, lodged the appeals with the SC in October 2007 against their death sentences pronounced by the High Court.
The Supreme Court started the hearing on the appeals on October 5.
