Former state minister and National Awami Party (NAP) chairman Shafiqul Ghani Swapan will be laid to rest at his family graveyard at Dimla in Nilphamari today.
His namaz-e-janaza was held at the south plaza of Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban in the city yesterday, says a press release.
Speaker Abdul Hamid Advocate, chief whip, parliament members, leaders of different political parties and family members, relatives and admirers of the deceased took part at the janaza.
Meanwhile, Chief Whip Abdus Shahid in a statement yesterday condoled the death of Ghani and conveyed sympathy to the members of the bereaved family.
