The bling in men's style

As appalling as it may sound to some, men's jewellery has existed for many years now and the trend has never subsided. There is no denying that your favourite movie star and your favourite football player or rapper is sporting them and looking good with it as well. If you consider yourself as the macho type; inclined to provide a reference to the past, every time you see a man with diamond stud earrings, stating how 'men' were more masculine 'those days' and men's jewellery had no place in history. You couldn't be more wrong! Even the ever famous Caesar wore a floral wreath and garlands over his shoulders. So, all this long, if you may have been denying yourself the amusement of man bangles, it is about time you let go and had a re-look.

Since the beginning of time, humans have adorned themselves with jewellery made of leaves, animal bones etc. With the discovery of metal they moved into wearing signet rings, metal brooches, and even single piece locket earrings. These were the era, when swords were considered as accessories and fashioned accordingly based on men's preference.

In the early modern ages, fashion related to men's jewellery entered a whole new episode with fashionable necessities like tie pins to secure the many pieces of cravats worn with suits and watch laces, used to store-in the large sized watches, inside pant pockets that were getting considerably tighter with the advent of years. Then, finally came the era of the modern ages when men made their move into luxury watches, elaborate signet rings, expensive metallic bracelets and neckpieces. The single piece earring returned to fashion, only this time they were more into studs rather than the dangling locket variations.

According to survey it has been found that men disliked the idea of trying out jewellery at a store and choosing their fare; it made them feel rather uncomfortable. That is why most jewellers provide an online station, pitching in men's jewellery and offering a private one-to-one session with the buyer.

The ear stud

A single piece diamond stud looks best at evening parties and informal meetings with family, friends and clients. However, a pre-requisition to donning the ear-stud is that you must be comfortable wearing it. A suave suit will look classy when paired off.

Bracelet

Leather bracelets are worn by few men and look best when worn with T-shirts, or folded long sleeved shirts and half shirts. These can be easily paired off with jeans.

Luxury watches

These look spectacular at every occasion.

Neckpieces

If you have a memorable piece like a ring that reminds you of someone or you want to re-create the look of a rap star, you can definitely wear the metallic neckpiece. However a word of caution is that this style does not suit everyone.

Tie pins and cufflinks

These look best when donning the professional look. Suits and Oxford shoes go hand-in-hand with these items.
