Breaking down beach wear

There is nothing like a good old relaxing holiday by the beach. Fun activities, great food, some sun bathing and an occasional good splash is all you need to wash away weeks' worth of stress. Planning is half the fun with destinations and resorts, but the one place we often get stuck at is the beach wear.
Most opt for the casual clothes at the beach either because they are not too comfortable with the two-piece or because they just do not want to spend the extra time deciding. But not having the right attire is not just uncomfortable, but takes the fun right out of it. The attire also plays a big part when you look back at pictures or happen to have an aesthetic Instagram feed to keep up with.
Attires are, without a doubt, the one thing every girl thinks of the moment they fix a trip to the beach. With the sun above our heads and the water under feet, not to mention the soothing winds that hit us, a dress somehow compliments the atmosphere, and is the first into the luggage.
MAXI DRESSES
These are long, flowy and comfortable, three things we love. The maxi dress is super versatile for it can be worn on many occasions, and come in many different shapes, sizes and prints. When buying one specifically for the beach, try to get bright colours in large prints. Most usually go down to the ankle in length, but if yours is a bit shorter, pair it with gladiator sandals and finish off with a straw hat.
CROCHET
Crochet dresses have that texture element which gives these dresses a nice dimension and prevent the look from going flat. You can go for a body-length dress and it would still not be overdoing it. You have a wide range to choose from, dense crochets look great on their own, while lighter weaves mean you have to layer up.
OVERSIZED TOPS
The beach is where you relax and let go, and an oversized top really helps with that, not to mention looks great too. Colours like whites, yellows and blues mix well with the surroundings and look even better when they have some sort of stitched motifs. These tops are usually knee length, and look great paired with shorts or quarter denim pants.

MIXING IN WITH THE WAVES TIE-DYE STYLE
Tie dye is one of those great things that keep circling back into our wardrobes with no place to flaunt them. The whimsical burst of colors fit right in with the beach, especially if they are in shades of blues and white, in which case you might just be camouflaged in with the waves.
WRAP IT UP
A wrap saves you from embarrassing wardrobe malfunctions while being a great beach accessory. Wrap it around your waist to mimic a skirt, or around your body to make it look like a dress. Of course none of this will be proper, but that is why it is an easygoing beach look.
KIMONO MAGIC
Another great cover up beside the wrap is a nice kimono. Simply throw it on your dress or tee if you want a sudden cover up on your attire. Kimonos come in a lot of different lengths, but for the beach purpose, look for one that goes down at least to your knees. This just gives you more options of styling with a lot of different outfits. Slightly see-through or lighter materials would also be nicer instead of heavier ones when on the beach.

TROPICAL FLORALS
This just never seems to go out of style. No matter what the occasion, florals seem to sneak their way in, but if you want to jazz it up a bit and make it look a bit more 'beachy,' go for tropical florals. Here you have a collection of greens and leaves instead of your mundane flowers which give it the tropical vibe.
LOTS OF STRIPES
Stripes are a print that seems to resonate with beaches really well. So be it your pant, shirt, dress or top or maybe even your bag, include some stripes.

FOOTWEAR IS VERY IMPORTANT
Wearing flip flops is a no-brainer when you are on the beach, but even flip flops have their varieties. If you are wearing a beautiful summer dress look for a sandal that will compliment it as a plain old flip flop will kill the whole look. Markets are crawling with very pretty sandals in plastic which will be perfect for splashing in the water, and will do justice to your pretty outfit as well. Gladiator sandals are another great option if you want to give your look an exotic vibe.

GET YOURSELF A HAT
No beach look is complete without a pretty hat. A boater is great if you are going for the sea-women look. A funky sun hat spruced up with pom-poms will compliment any summer beach dress, not to mention give you protection from the sun. Minimalist people would want something super casual and barely there, and nothing says casual more than a bucket hat.
Although beaches are a summer thing, do not let anyone stop you from visiting in the winter if you wish to. If you prefer dresses, just remember to pack some heavy woolen shawls because the cold winds will hit you hard.
