Iftar at Lakeshore Hotel
When you have spent over 12 hours fasting, foods of all kind start to reign over all your thoughts, words and sometimes even your sight. To satiate your cravings, if you are looking to taste a range of items from various corners of the world, you can drop by at Lakeshore Hotel at Gulshan 2. It is offering an exquisite and extensive menu, full of mouth-watering delicacies for their iftar and dinner buffet this Ramadan.
As you walk into the Golden Goose Restaurant, located on the ground floor of the hotel building, you will experience the warm hospitality as you are greeted by the amiable staff, who lead you to your table. The dining area is luminous with brilliant lights and golden stars and minarets painted across the pillars that are meant to give patrons the perfect Ramadan feel.
When it's almost time for iftar, guests are served with the drink of the day. The lemon-mint-ginger drink, for instance, has a unique sweet and tangy taste that makes it the perfect refresher to break your fast with. There is an excellent selection of assorted fruits, salads and appetisers, among which, the 'dahi vara', Greek salad and mixed fruit chaat are the flavourful favourites. Besides the clear vegetable soup, the Mutton Haleem is a Ramadan specialty at the 'Soup and Haleem' corner as well.
About a dozen special iftar items are also on offer, which include pakora, chana, beef lota kebabs, chicken shashlik, fried prawn on toast, spring roll, dal puri and jilapi. The prawn on toast is especially tender and delicious in its fried glory, while the sweet and crispy jilapi taste divine with every bite.
Up next are the stars of the show – the main dishes. One can start off with beef tehari and gradually proceed to other exquisite staples such as the chicken kabsa, naan and pasta.
